hello!!! i'm back from another break once again. i have been ungodly busy the last couple weeks, and i just have not had the time or the motivation to do blogs daily. i want to try to get better at it, but over the last couple weeks i went to augusta like 4 different times (64 miles one way) and i was just so burnt out. once the opera finished (puccini's turandot) i felt immediately so much better, but the opera was a phenomenal experience. being able to see professional performers doing such an iconic opera like turandot was such a unique and once of a lifetime opportunity. the conductors that we had were amazing as well! matthew rhodes, the main conductor who conducted the final show, was phenomenal. he was patient, kind, and so very talented. he gave us our cues, never blew up at us, and just was such a great leader. being able to work with so many different people of varying abilities, ages, and upbringings was an incredible experience which i will definitely be grateful for when having to work with so many new and different people in the music industry. 

it also actually snowed in columbia! the snow was beautiful and we actually were able to get a day off of school because of it. sammy was able to come down for almost a week as well!! i missed him so much and we were able to see each other was so great. he was here for his 20th birthday. i was so happy i was able to be with him for that day, and we had some chantilly cake at the end of the long day in augusta. we also celebrated our 10 months together :). he's actually coming back down here for st. valentines day because we don't know if we're going to be able to see each other for a bit. this will be the first valentines day i'll actually have a decent valentine haha so im very much looking forward to that. 

hmmmmm what else.. i caught up with the work that i needed to! it's kind of weird not having anything to do right now, but it's nice. speaking of not having anything to do, i found a 1980's soviet movie called ичла (needle). i started watching it with sam and neither of us don't have a clue what's happening, even with subtitles. anyway, the music in it is great, it has a lot of кино in it which is a great. as well as the guitarist from кино playing the main male lead (виктор цои). well i think thats about all that i remember that's happened from 1/21 until now. if i remember anything else i'll put it in the next blog (whenever that happens to be)
