the host: i watched this movie for the first time a few weeks ago and it's such a fun movie. i thought that the writing was very well paced and the sound design was also SOOO good. the soundtrack (bc sammy recommended we watch that movie) was awesome. i think that the fact that the characters are able to be comedic as well as dramatic in the same movie was really cool, and executed very well. i really had a great time watching this movie and i think that it's a great newer horror film that really anyone can watch. not too gory or jump-scary. 8/10.

good will hunting: i watched this movie for the first time a few years ago with my parents and sister, and this is actually how i found elliott smith. i loved this movie so much the first time i watched it, i would only listen to the soundtrack for weeks. this movie is just such a fun and entertaining movie and the character development is so cool to watch in time. i feel like many teenagers my age can relate to will, and the fact that he was able to open up to his therapist by the end of the movie, it really shows the difference that sean made in his life. i could talk about all the different details of this movie for a long time but this is a short version of me saying that i LOVE this movie. 9.5/10.

amelie: I ADORE THIS MOVIE. this is a movie i think that everyone should watch in their lives. its so beautifully shot, written, casted, the sets are amazing, and the soundtrack is one of my favorite soundtracks from a movie ever. i watched this movie again the other day and i really forgot how funny and how touching this movie is. this movie is so interesting because it focuses on the details of life, simplicities, and just some of the small things that people forget to think about. this movie really changed my outlook on life after i watched it and, again, the soundtrack was PHENOMENAL. genuinely a 10/10 movie.

la la land: i'm really only writing about my favorite movies right now but here's another absolute banger. i love this movie so much and i think it's part of why i fell in love with jazz. i love the ending and the way that their relationship has it's highs and lows throughout the movie and were able to see it and feel what the characters are feeling. one of the coolest things about la la land is the use of color throughout the whole thing, and the way that different colors are used to visualize the way that the movie feels. i don't know if that makes a lot of sense in writing but it makes sense in my mind. fantastic film. 10/10.

interstellar: i rewatched this movie and oh my god i love this movie so much. the music, the acting, the whole plot twist at the end.. oh my GOD it's so good. i think this is definitely nolan's best film by a loooooongshot. it's pretty long but it's well paced and i stayed invested pretty much the whole time. solid 8.5/10.

eternal sunshine of the spotless mind: i knew i'd love this movie as soon as i saw the clips of it online. i love jim carrey and the soundtrack of the whole film is just incredible. i think that it's genuinely such a cool concept for a romance film; to want to forget a relationship in the past and actually have the means to do it in this world. the whole atmosphere that was established is so cool to watch and the small details that are always happening in the background make this movie that much more spectacular. i adore this movie, definitely in my top ten. 9/10.

phoenician scheme: i watched this movie with friends at the terrace and i LOVED IT. the music was great, directing was phenomenal (sammy ;)), and the color grading was beautiful. michael cera was in it and i think the casting was also perfect for this movie. it was such an enjoyable film, but everyone agrees that this isn't as good as wes' other films, which i need to see. solid 7.5/10... may change as i watch more of his movies though :33
